The American Center and Carnegie India invite you to the next installment of the series “Cinema, Culture, and Policy”. This discussion will explore the phenomenon of “brain gain” and how the experience of returning Indians – and government initiatives designed to encourage their return from work and study abroad – have contributed to the Indian economy. Featuring passages from the 2004 movie Swades, the discussion will focus on the economic consequences of migration and the policies used by the Indian government to leverage the talents of its diaspora.
